CASE STUDY
Bayshore Gardens Outdoor Kitchen
Bradenton, FL - Waterfront Property
The Client:
This project was for a couple who split their time between Florida and another state — true snowbirds who purchased their 1987 waterfront home in 2017. After living in the space for several years, they began to imagine how thoughtful updates could better support their lifestyle and make the most of their time spent by the water.
They envisioned an outdoor kitchen that would bring people together, a space for grilling, entertaining, and enjoying the Florida sunshine without ever having to step indoors.
How they found us:
Referred by their trusted home designer, Joe Clark.
The Challenge:
Transforming this backyard into a fully functional outdoor kitchen came with a few engineering and design hurdles:
Structural support: Floating slabs needed to be installed to properly bear the weight of the kitchen and ensure long-term stability.
Plumbing limitations: Water lines had to be routed through the cabinetry into the sink base. Our team drilled a precise, small opening on the side of the cabinets to allow access without compromising the structure.
Alignment issues: The newly built island knee wall was slightly off, not parallel with the kitchen perimeter. Installers had to shift the cabinetry by about ¼ inch to ensure a perfect fit.
Despite these challenges, our team worked closely with the contractors to create a seamless installation that aligned with the client’s vision.
